Dear Friend:
I have sad news for you Orva Hooper died last evening at 9.30. The funeral will be held Sunday a.m. from the Mennonite church and he will be buried in the Mennonite cemetery. He died after over a week’s intense suffering of Spinal Mengitis [sic]. Orlon [Orton] and his parents are heart broken over his death. The whole neighborhood mourns with them. I am over to Glasgows and have been since Tues. Mr. G. is just alive and cannot live long. Thought you would like to know about Orva. C.M.Van”
